Spider-Man: Homecoming - 26 New Things We Just Learned
13. Peter Parker Has The Post-Avengers Blues
The film takes up almost immediately after Civil War, and inevitably, it deals with the hangover any teenager would have after getting to hang-out with his superhero idols.
As Tom Holland explains:
“It’s almost like he went to summer camp and now he’s back at school again... Here’s this kid who goes on this adventure with Iron Man and all of the Avengers, and then suddenly he’s stuck on the subway going back to school. It’s a very fun thing to play; that sort of stroppy teenager after having the best time of his life. But there’s definitely light at the end of the tunnel for Peter Parker.”
“This is a guy who grew up in a world where all these characters are real. Seeing it from the ground, what is that like? How is that different?”
