1. His Origin

For years, The Vulture was an enigma in Marvel Comics. Despite constantly struggling against Spider-Man, very little was actually known about Adrian Toomes. He's a villain who typically tries to pull off a heist, gets beaten by Spider-Man, goes to prison, escapes, and does it all over again.

With no previous motivation ever given for dressing up like a giant bird, his origin was finally revealed twenty years after his first appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #241.

Toomes was an electrical engineer and was business partners with a man named Gregory Bestman. Bestman handled the financial side of the business and embezzled money from their company, stealing money that should have rightly gone to Toomes. When Toomes found out, he destroyed the business and immediately became a supervillain.

He does this instead of taking out patent on his newly discovered technology that can make a man fly, which would surely make him rich. Toomes seems to simply enjoy being a villain, often taunting those he robs and getting vengeance on individuals he has been slighted by in the past.
