Why It COULD Be Him

Brock is another character who has been rumoured to be a secret part of the movie - though not in either the fully finished Venom form or in the shape of Topher Grace either. Mercifully.

It would be interesting to see Brock introduced as one of the other members of the Shocker gang who doesn't follow Bokeem Woodbine's lead of becoming a Shocker clone. Maybe Donald Glover, since we know he's affiliated with the gang from the trailer?

And what price on Glover playing a supporting character who ends up in a much bigger role for a sequel? Venom would definitely fit that billing and we know there was lots of interest from Sony in making a spin-off.

Why It Might Not Be

They've gone down the Venom road before, and even if Brock appears before his encounter with the symbiote, Marvel may be being careful to avoid raking up too much settled dirt. Plus, it would be a completely different origin story for Brock from his comic book backstory, and Marvel don't mess with the formula THAT much.
