Spider-Man Homecoming: 8 Reasons Why It's Basically Iron Man 4
4. Happy Hogan's Expanded Role
It simply wouldn't be an Iron Man movie without Happy Hogan, and the amount of screentime Tony Stark's multi-functional head of security enjoys in Spider-Man: Homecoming suggests there are now four of them.
Jon Favreau's character's only previous Marvel outings came in Iron Man and both of its sequels - he's a supporting character to Tony Stark and generally doesn't make expanded universe cameos for the sake of it.
Given that Homecoming marks his biggest on-screen contribution since the original Iron Man in 2008, the concept of the Spider-Man reboot as the next chapter in Stark's story gains credence.
Happy's role in the movie is one of significance - even Iron Man can't be everywhere at once so his trusted ally is assigned the task of keeping tabs on Peter Parker and acting as a point of contact for the fledgling web-slinger.
So Stark's fingerprints are all over this movie and we've got a quintessential Iron Man character in a weighty supporting role... yep, this is an Iron Man sequel.
