5. Peter's Secret Superhero Pals

A number of Peter's fellow academic decathlon team members are referred to by only their first names, but are almost certainly hinting at certain namesake comic book characters.

For instance, there's the brilliant Abraham Attah, who has only a small role in the movie and is credited as "Abraham", possibly as a reference to Abraham Brown, who would eventually become Black Tiger.

Then there's Tiffany Espensen, who plays Cindy, perhaps a thinly-veiled version of Cindy Moon aka the cult favourite superhero Silk, and finally, Isabella Amara as Sally, most likely gymnast Sally Avril aka Bluebird.

Marvel could easily go either way with these characters: they could return in the sequel as some sort of superhero backup to help fend off the Sinister Six, or this could just be a fun nod at the larger potential of the MCU. Or maybe they'll all end up in Infinity War and get quickly wiped out by Thanos. No? Probably not, then.
