Spider-Man: Homecoming - Every Secret You Need To Know

1. A Stark Wedding Looms

And finally, there's the genuinely quite unexpected reveal that Pepper Potts is back in the picture, showing up at the end of the movie as Tony and Happy try to come up with a new announcement to satisfy the press scrum after Peter turns down the Avengers invite.

It's particularly weird as Civil War seemed to signal the pair splitting up, or at the very least going on a break, and most fans seemed to assume that Gwyneth Paltrow was simply done with the MCU given the rather sudden, matter-of-fact break-up story.

Tony and Happy end up settling on having Tony propose to Pepper, Happy having apparently kept the ring in his pocket for almost a decade. The whole gag plays out more as weird than anything else, leaving the audience somewhat confused about whether or not the pair are actually getting engaged, or if it's just a sham for the press.

Could Infinity War open with a Stark-Potts wedding? It'd probably be an effective way to lull the audience into a false sense of security before Thanos inevitably shows up. Given how aggressively Pepper has been re-inserted into the MCU here, though, it seems like she's probably sticking around for the long haul.

What do you think of Spider-Man: Homecoming's nods towards the future of the MCU? Shout it out in the comments!
