The third act of the film, as revealed by the trailers, brings a final showdown between Vulture and Spider-Man, involving a battle on a plane and taking the action out into Coney Island. Of all the elements of the movie, it's one that seems to split opinion in terms of its quality and what it actually does for the film.

Empire write that "the duke-it-out, CGI-heavy action finale between [Vulture] and Parker drags somewhat." It's a common complaint of superhero movies, and Den of Geek likewise note that "the movie suffers when it veers closer to convention."

However, other publications note that the finale contains some real surprises, with The Guardian saying it's "seat-edge" stuff, and Polygon referring to a moment late in the game as "a masterful stroke that culminates in a climactic resolution not quite like any other I’ve seen in a modern superhero film." Forbes, who have one of the more negative reviews, say that Vulture "has one dynamite sequence in the third act."
