4. The Humour Is Great

"[Homecoming] forges its own identity within the confines of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a hefty helping of the MCU’s primary virtue: humour... It's a movie that will have you laughing throughout even though it's not technically a comedy." Collider.

That's the kind of comment that appears throughout the reviews, which is that the movie is pretty hilarious, and is exactly as it should be given how quip-happy and funny its central hero is.

Polygon call it "smart, incredibly funny and surprisingly clever," adding that its humour is grounded in its heart; Empire reference its "sharp gags"; and Digital Spy and IndieWire both make specific mention of Zendaya in this regard, the former saying she's a "revelation" and delivers "big laughs".
