Though the footage wasn't released, we know that the clip of Spider-Man: Homecoming that was screened at Comic Con included Peter Parker sitting in class covertly watching the Civil War airport battle on Youtube. Because apparently someone was just standing around filming it off screen, or something.

Anyway, io9 asked Tom Holland whetherhe thought Parker was watching the battle - was it narcissicism or was it something more? Holland's answer says something about the mentality of his character at the start of Homecoming:

“That’s an interesting question and I don’t know if I can answer it fully. But it’s like when you go on holiday and you come home, back to school and you’re like ‘Wow, I wish I was on holiday again.’ And that’s all I can say without ruining anything.”

So that's the Homecoming side of the title somewhat explained then (beyond there actually being a dance, of course). Parker will be struggling not only with the balance of school and home life and being a hero, but also with the kind of post-action anxiety that soldiers report when they go home from tours.
