Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailer 2 Reactions - 8 Ups & 2 Downs

4. There's Lots Of Tony Stark

When you pay Robert Downey Jr money, you're going to want to use Robert Downey Jr as much as possible, and given how excellent he is as Tony Stark, it's good to see how central he appears to be to the heart of the Homecoming plot.

Without the traditional "with great power comes great responsibility" origin plot, the trailer essentially establishes Tony as a slightly disgruntled older sibling, with more than a tiny slither of regret for introducing Spider-Man to the world of supervillain fighting.

Stark is essentially Peter Parker's replacement Uncle Ben here, taking away his toys when he tries to over-reach and making sure that he's grounded, rather than wanting to run with the Avengers before he's skilful enough not to mess up when he tries to save the day.

Still, it's a little rich of Iron Man to tell someone he shouldn't be a hero if he has to rely on his suit to be one (especially as he gave him the suit with all its improvements in the first place)...
