It's very clear that we're supposed to still think of Peter as a fledgling superhero: he's awkward and not fully finessed, sort of like a young deer taking its first steps. Inevitably, he messes up, destroying tree houses when he's swinging from them (nobody ever really explores what happens when Spidey tries to swing from the wrong vantage point) and accidentally invading little girls' sleepover garden parties.

Interestingly, the sequence confirms that the suit can't fully cope with even the damage of falling out of a tree, which leads to his eye apertures malfunctioning creepily and terrifying some local kids in their tent.
