Spider-Man: Homecoming - What Does The Ending Really Mean?

1. Scorpion Wants Revenge

As the mid-credits scene reveals, Mac Gargan manages to survive having a car dropped on him and falling into the New York Bay - albeit with pretty bad injuries to his arm and a gnarly facial scar - and he wants revenge.

Rather than blaming Vulture, he clearly sees Spider-Man as the reason for his misfortune and vows to get back at him. Presumably that means we already know who the villain for the sequel will be - and it's only right that they give the excellent Michael Mando more time to impress with the character. He's certainly got the chops.

Does his line about "friends on the outside" who would want to take Spider-Man down perhaps refer to a fledgling Sinister Six too? That'd be an interesting set up considering what we know about Sony's desires to spin that property off.
