So, you have a comic book character who's able to traverse New York City in possibly the most convenient way possible, and you give him... a car?

This was - hilariously - the reality Gerry Conway had to confront in his lauded run on The Amazing Spider-Man during the 1970s. Marvel were approached by a toy line to give Spidey a vehicle to boost sales, and low-and-behold, the Spider-Mobile came into existence.

It's been played for laughs ever since, but the original buggy version does actually get a nod during Into the Spider-Verse. When the Spider-Men descend into Aunt May's secret lair, the vehicle is displayed on a platform adjacent to Spidey's other suits. And speaking of...
