Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse - Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

6. May Parker

Spider Man Into The Spider Verse

Did Into the Spider-Verse really just give us the best big screen interpretation of May Parker we've ever seen? Yes. Yes, it did. At a matter of fact, Peter Parker's beloved Aunt May is quite possibly this film's pound for pound MVP.

While Rosemary Harris, Sally Field, and Marisa Tomei have all done an exceptional job at playing an Aunt May, it's a wonderful change of pace to bypass the trope of May being unaware of her nephew's double life as Spider-Man and skip right to her being in on the operation.

This version of Aunt May is completely in the know, ready to do whatever it takes to make sure order in New York (and the multiverse) is restored. And why shouldn't she be? Her surrogate son just spent the last ten years of his life as a wall-crawling superhero. If she can handle that, she can handle anything.

Additionally, the sense of humor that comes from this unique perspective on Spider-Man only serves to elevate the comedy in this already hilarious movie.

Eat your heart out, Alfred Pennyworth, because there's a new superhero parental figure who has mastered the art of dry wit in town.
