Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse Spin-Off: Everything You Need To Know

Lauren Montgomery might not be a household name like Quentin Tarantino or Chris Nolan, but if you were a fan of the comic book homages the first movie paid, you should be very excited about her involvement.

She’s previously directed Young Justice, Batman: Year One and the animated Wonder Woman movie, along with many other animated comic book adaptations. While the trio behind Into The Spider-Verse (Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman) aren’t returning, Montgomery will definitely bring the frenetic, graphic novel stylings the first one served up.

There’s a very ‘girl power’ vibe bubbling under the hype for this spin-off already. Given Montgomery’s experience bringing Diana Prince’s story to life, she’s a bankable name for the project to rely on. She’s previously worked in art departments and production too, so the spin-off is likely to crackle with creativity the same way the first one did.

Animated directors don’t always get that much credit. They’re rarely as recognised as live action directors, but they can be the driving force between how the finished movie looks. Rest assured, Montgomery is a safe pair of hands.
