An inevitable side effect of No Way Home's success is the increased appreciation for the past Spider-Man actors, both villainous and heroic.

Those older movies have been topping streaming charts and dominating social media conversations, the latter of which has resulted in a "#MakeTASM3" movement, imploring Sony to produce a third Garfield-led Spider-Man movie.

Interestingly, a continued future for the Maguire and Garfield Spider-Men was also discussed behind-the-scenes, with McKenna revealing that the filmmakers considered giving those actors their own post-credits scene:

“I would love to see more of their journey. We even talked about, ‘Oh, we could do a [post-credits] tag with this one! We could do a tag with that one!'”

Now, the decision to bring back Maguire and Garfield (again) is above McKenna and Sommers' pay grade, but the fact that such a post-credits scene was even discussed might be an indicator that Sony is open to going there.

And with all the money that No Way Home is making - not to mention all the money that a Maguire/Garfield-starring sequel would also make - who can blame them?

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
