Spider-Man: No Way Home - 8 Best Fan Theories After The Trailer

6. Doc Ock Is Talking To Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man In This Scene

Though not yet confirmed in an official capacity, it feels somewhat inevitable that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will reprise their Spidey roles in No Way Home.

After all, are we seriously going to believe that Sony and Marvel went and dug up Jamie Foxx's Electro - a villain that precisely nobody talks about - but decided to leave those previous Spider-Men behind? It doesn't make sense.

Most fans are already taking it for granted that Maguire and Garfield will be appearing in the movie, which has led to the cool, though not exactly mind-blowing theory that Alfred Molina's Doctor Octopus is actually talking to his own version of Spider-Man - i.e. the Maguire version - in the trailer scene that's pictured above.

Molina, of course, played the eight-limbed villain in 2004's Spider-Man 2, which also featured Maguire as the titular hero. A 2021 reunion would be amazing to see.

The editing of the trailer makes it seem like Doc Ock is saying "Hello Peter" to Tom Holland's Spider-Man, but considering that the MCU has a history of misleading trailers, it wouldn't be surprising if this scene isn't what it seems.

And speaking of misleading trailers...
