Spider-Man: No Way Home - Both Post-Credits Scenes Explained

2. The Multiverse Of Madness Is Coming

After a pandemic-induced rejig of Marvel Studios' upcoming release slate, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has long been set to head to the big screen on 6 May 2022.

While that is no secret, it was absolutely a surprise to see a second post-credits No Way Home spot reserved for what was a teaser trailer for that sequel to 2016's Doctor Strange.

Key to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will seemingly be the mantra that reckless magic will not go unpunished - as heard here from Chiwetel Ejiofor's Baron Mordo in the Sorcerer Supreme's first cinematic outing. Given how Strange's use of magic in No Way Home threatened to collapse the multiverse, you have to imagine there will be quite the price to pay for the Master of the Mystic Arts.

In terms of what this trailer offers up, there's Rachel McAdams' Christine Palmer getting married, there's Strange seeking help from Wanda Maximoff, there's a first look at Xochitl Gomez's universe-jumping America Chavez, there's infamous tentacled beast Shuma Gorath, and then the purported greatest threat to the entire universe is revealed to be an evil version of Doctor Strange.
