Spider-Man: Homecoming - 13 Biggest Rumours You Need To Know (July 4th)

Ever since Donald Glover publicly campaigned for the Spider-Man role, fans have heavily pushed him for the Miles Morales role should Sony or Marvel ever decide to focus on him as a legacy replacement for Peter Parker.

Now that he's been cast in Homecoming, that speculation has now amped up even further in the absence of any confirmation of his role. Nice idea though, right?

Some fans are getting so over-excited they've missed the key point that Glover is a decade older than Peter Parker. So they'd have to establish Morales as the original Spider-Man, or as an older guy inspired to take on the suit by the newbie. Either way it seems unlikely.

For a youthful, energetic film, there are a surprising number of fully grown adults with mysterious roles. Even if you accept that Logan Marshall-Green is playing The Tinkerer, that means Michael Mando, Hannibal Buress, Martin Starr, Glover and Bokeem Woodbine are all unaccounted for.

Perhaps we really are going to see a version of The Wrecking Crew? Unless they're all just going to be wasted in teacher roles?
