Spider-Man: Homecoming - 13 Biggest Rumours You Need To Know (July 4th)

Anna Kendrick has decided to throw her hat in the ring to play Squirrel Girl, presumably for a movie that hasn't even been announced yet. Unless of course she's secretly going to join an already announced Marvel project...

Could that be Spider-Man: Homecoming? Well, as MovieWeb cleverly pointed out, Squirrel Girl is most notably a Great Lakes Avengers team member, and when he was asked which other Avengers might show up in Homecoming, Joe Russo tantalisingly offered the following tease:

"Let's just say ... Great Lakes Avengers."

Confirmed? Not quite.

Rating: 1/10

Yeah, that's not happening. You can smell the shenanigans on Russo's quote, and the likelihood of a low level Avenger turning up and potentially stealing some of the comic focus from Spider-Man himself in his first solo outing is incredibly unlikely.

Good casting idea though.
