SPOILER ALERT - Predicting The Endings To Fall 2018's Biggest Movies

1. Johnny Depp Is (Kinda) Written Out - Fantastic Beasts & The Crimes Of Grindelwald

The second of five (!) planned Fantastic Beasts movies has been on the receiving end of significant backlash for retaining the casting of Johnny Depp as the villainous Gellert Grindelwald in spite of his problematic personal issues.

There has been pressure for Depp to be recast, though with the film being mere months away from release, there's no longer time for him to be replaced.

While it is quite possible that Warner Bros. may cow to public pressure for future films, the most fans can hope for here is his part being downplayed in editing, and him possibly being coyly written out at the end.

The film may organically end with Grindelwald heading off into hiding after the climactic battle, at which point he could change his appearance once again for the third film, re-emerging with a new actor in the role.

Considering the series is fantasy nonsense at its core, it would be a fairly smooth transition, and probably worth it for the sake of PR and, well, the fact many weren't happy with his casting pre-controversy either.
