Star Trek: 10 Embarrassing Movie Scenes That Should Never Have Been Filmed

10. Captain Under The Bridge - Star Trek: Generations

Kirk Star Trek: Generations should have been a full Next Generation movie, but either the studio didn't have confidence in Picard and crew to carry a film on their own, or they wanted to make another film with the bankable Original crew, or perhaps a bit of both; Generations became the film where Kirk met Picard. But they didn't just meet: the movie wanted Kirk to die. That was a big deal in 1994. For fans, Captain Kirk was pretty much Star Trek, and if they were going to have him die, everyone hoped that he would be given the hero's send-off he deserved. Originally he was going to be shot in the back, but it was decided that it wasn't dramatic enough. The death that made it into the final cut had Kirk wrestling with a remote control and then being crushed under a bridge. Was that better than Kirk being shot in the back? Maybe. Was dying under a bridge a fitting death for Starfleet's greatest captain? No, it wasn't. Rather than dying saving a species we didn't care about, Kirk should have died on the bridge of the Enterprise. Or even better, he should never have been killed off in the first place.
