Star Trek 3: 10 Things We Want From Star Trek Into Darkness Sequel

3. Give The Females Something To Do

Star Trek Into Darkness One of my main problems with Star Trek Into Darkness is that it didn't really feel like the female characters had a whole lot of agency. Uhura is, as stated earlier, reduced to the nagging girlfriend stereotype for much of the film, while as Dr. Carol Marcus, Alice Eve is mostly a walking plot-point intended to get the narrative moving and provide a possible love interest for Kirk in future installments. Depressingly, the most memorable contribution Eve makes to the film is probably the facepalm-inducingly gratuitous scene of her in her underwear. How's about in Trek 3, Uhura gets her own kick-ass fight scene of a decent length, and Marcus does something that demonstrates her scientific know-how? It shouldn't be difficult.
