In Conclusion...
OK, it seems 99.9% likely that the next Star Trek film, whoever directs it, will be about The Klingons. But The Borg just seems a more interesting choice, and to be honest a more logical one- the current creative team seem to love shaking things up, making bold choice to keep Star Trek fresh; and using a long-dormant villain who have never faced this Enterprise crew before, and never been a part of this corner of the Star Trek universe, seems more in line with their thought processes. Whether you like The Borg or not isnt the point- you may not like The Borg youve seen so far. Because theyre so flexible and unexplored as an enemy and as an alien race, the creative team seem to have free rein to make The Borg into something they want to see. Because they may not be keen on The Borg is precisely the point- After all, Abrams wasnt initially keen on doing Star Trek at all, because he wasnt fond of what it was and he wanted to make it his own- something he would go and see and something that would appeal to his tastes. So why shouldnt that philosophy apply to The Borg?
