Star Trek 4: 8 Villains We Might See

1. The Klingons

The Klingons are the most obvious choice for the next villain. They were only fleetingly viewed in the first two films of the reboot, but an all-out war film or political thriller in the vein of The Undiscovered Country would be a refreshing change of pace for the series.

It really is time for The Klingons to take centre stage- they are the equivalent of The Daleks or the Cylons and need a chance to face off against this generation's Star Trek team. They haven't really been the primary antagonists for over a decade, and this needs to be corrected. Listening to Michael Giacchino's incredible theme for them has you desperate to see more of the Klingons heading into battle to this music:

They can outwit Kirk, Spock and the rest of the crew, they can intimidate them, they can arguably mature the Enterprise crew into the team we loved for decades. This could be the opportunity for the reboot films to come full circle.

We would see the Federation at their strongest, and most ruthless, as the Klingons wage all-out war across the stars. To see a Star Trek movie turn into a full blown war film like Apocalypse Now or Saving Private Ryan is an incredibly exciting prospect, and who else but the Klingons could make it happen? This could be what all the other reboot films have been leading up to.
