Star Trek: 5 Awesome Movie Villain Performances And 5 That Sucked

3. Christopher Plummer As General Chang (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country)

general-chang For the original crew's final film, they needed an outstanding villain to give them a proper send-off. Step forward Christopher Plummer as General Chang. Plummer€™s acting credentials cant be argued with and he didn€™t disappoint as the Shakespeare quoting Klingon. From his first appearance in the Enterprise transporter room to his dramatic turn as prosecutor where he frames Kirk and McCoy for derailing the peace process between the Federation and the Klingons, Plummer€™s extensive stage experience gives him a presence that hasn€™t been felt since Ricardo Montalban dominated 'The Wrath Of Khan.' From the get-go he clashes with Kirk and almost destroys the enterprise thanks to a Bird Of Prey that can fire while cloaked, making it impossible to target and shoot at. Plummer plays Chang with all the arrogance that a General at his level would have but the Enterprise Crew outwit him by programming a photon torpedo to home in on the Bird Of Prey's engine emissions. Plummer plays him cool and controlled, right up to his demise. The role of Chang was written especially for Plummer who took it on the condition that he didn€™t have to wear the heavy Klingon make-up. The compromise was to give him smaller forehead ridges and a super badass eye patch that's bolted to his face.
