Star Trek Beyond: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

7. Pavel Chekov (Anton Yelchin)

Star Trek Beyond Jaylah Uhura
Paramount

It's practically impossible not to watch Star Trek Beyond without a twinge of sadness whenever Anton Yelchin's Chekov appears on-screen, given the actor's shocking and untimely death last month.

Still, a slight comfort comes in the sense that Chekov gets easily the most screen time he's had in any of the three new films to date, and Yelchin again does a stand-up job bringing heart and humour to the character.

Paired up with Kirk when the Enterprise crew are separated early on, Chekov gets a lot to do while the script also deepens his character further with some fun nods to his Russian heritage and his apparent status as a ladies' man.

As the mid-credits tribute makes clear, for Anton, indeed.
