Star Trek: Every Starfleet Starship Class Ranked Worst To Best

34. Engle

Star Trek Engle Class
CBS

The Engle Class was slightly similar, in a way, to the Magee class. There were two warp nacelles that were attached to the primary hull, though with the Engle class they sat on the outside of the hull, rather than cutting through it. This allowed for a flat design, one that would allow a smaller target where needed.

The design was based on the NX class, with the primary hull and saucer section similar to both. The ship that took part in the Battle of the Binary Stars was the USS T'Planna Hath, named after the Vulcan historical figure.

The Engle class received their designation from Joe Engle, test pilot and also pilot of the Space Shuttle Enterprise, later the Columbia as well.
