Need I say more? Okay, I will. Whether or not he's playing Khan (I, like most people, hope he's not but after this trailer I almost don't care), Cumberbatch's villain is obviously a huge selling point for the film, and this trailer all but stops short of calling itself
Star Trek Into Benedict's Awesomeness. His voice is cool and menacing, filled with the exact kind of malice it needed. His few action scenes in the trailer show him to be an incredibly formidable physical foe, and if he's responsible for that shot of the Enterprise crashing into the water, well you can color my interest piqued. Just the final shot of him sitting in a (presumably) captain's chair with a sinister half-smile is enough to make me tear my hair out waiting for the movie's premiere day. With his jet-black Federation uniform, Cumberbatch's presence is going to be a force to be reckoned with. Sorry Eric Bana, but looks like you were one movie too soon.
