Star Trek: Ranking The Movies From Best To Worst

9. Star Trek: Insurrection (1998)

Star Trek Insurrection To date the most recent Star Trek film to be directed by a cast member (Search For Spock and Voyage Home were directed by Leonard Nimoy; The Final Frontier was directed by William Shatner; First Contact and this one were directed by Jonathan Frakes). The story is an intriguing one - Data goes haywire while observing a peaceful race called the Ba'ku, and even attacks a hidden Federation outpost. Upon investigating his malfunction, the crew of the Enterprise learn that the Federation seems to be involved in a plot to remove the Ba'ku from their homeworld without their knowing. Outraged by this, they crew begins an outright rebellion against the Federation in order to defend the Ba'ku. The Good: The acting is top-notch through most of the film, and Brent Spiner (Data) gets a chance to cut loose. The Bad: As short as the movie is, the plot drags on sooooo sloooowly. Also, there's an unnecessary subplot involving a romantic interest for Picard. The Ugly: This dude's face. insurrection_ruafo
