Star Trek: Ranking The Movies From Best To Worst

4. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991)

general-chang And on to the top tier Star trek films. This one is famous for being the final film to feature the original series cast (minus minor and cameo appearances), and is also one of the best. On the eve of Kirk's retirement, a moon nearby the Klingon homeworld explodes, and the damage causes the Klingon Empire to be thrown into turmoil. Realizing their new weakness, they ask for a peace treaty with the Federation. They send Kirk, assuming he would be the best choice due to his long history with Klingons. Unfortunately, the Klingon Emperor is later assassinated, with Kirk and McCoy being charged for the crime. After that, the film is a whirlwind of changing scenery. From Earth to the Klingon homeworld to the prison planet of Rora Penthe, and finally to Camp Khitomer where the peace talks are being held. The Good: Christopher Plummer owns this movie as General Chang, possibly the best Klingon villain in the history of the franchise. The "Cry Havoc!" speech during the climactic battle is awesome. And of course, the Bird-of-Prey (that's the last time! I promise!) The Bad: The film is presented in a whodunit style, but the solution is kind of obvious. The Ugly: The sequence of Klingons being shot in zero gravity is good, but the CGI blood spurts are hokey.
