Star Wars: 10 Actors' Roles That Ruin Their Classic Character

9. Billy Dee Williams Is A Laughable Game Character - C&C Tiberium Wars

You’ve got to love Lando Calrission. Even though he is initially shown to be a bit of a double-crossing super-bastard, he’s got the advantage of being cool enough that neither the audience nor the characters can stay mad at him for long. A sharp dresser with all the right lines, Lando would certainly have been a huge hit with the ladies if there was more than two of them in the original trilogy. Cloud City’s hustler-in-chief is without a doubt the second coolest smuggler in the galaxy, even piloting the Millennium Falcon to victory in the final battle.

Essentially, what made Williams’ character so likeable was his endless charisma and rebellious nature. So what happens when he is tasked with leading instead of larceny while retaining none of the wit, charm or substance of his performance as Lando?

Bad things.

His role in Command & Conquer Tiberium Wars consists of him blundering around sets which look like they've been made for a school theatre production while loudly tripping over his dialogue. It's as if he’s just graduated with first-class honours from the William Shatner School of Hammy Overacting. He speaks to the player with the quavering uncertainty of a man who has only had thirty seconds to review his script and it comes across as though you're being told a terrible ghost story.

You know it's bad when you're dramatically upstaged by a swinging light-bulb.
