Star Wars: 10 Actors' Roles That Ruin Their Classic Character
7. Carrie Fisher Is Peter Griffin's Boss - Family Guy
Able to both rock a bikini that accelerated the sexual maturity of an entire generation and fearlessly lead men in combat with equal success, Leia Organa (Skywalker Solo) is without doubt the most badass princess on the Disney roster. A seasoned diplomat, hardened warrior and figurehead of the Rebel Alliance, it’s little wonder that the coolest man in whole galaxy fell madly in “I know.” with her.
The only misstep made with the character was having her present the Star Wars Holiday Special which is so widely despised that we should all pretend that George Lucas never dreamed it up as stage one of his attempts to obliterate his own masterpiece. Carrie Fisher had a great presence as Leia and that’s how many of us still remember her (outside of the obligatory Star Wars-based cameos).
So, based on these qualities, when the Family Guy team called up you’d expect them to use some of that framework when creating a character for her. However, in typically subversive fashion, Fisher drops any and all semblance of royal dignity to voice Angela, Peter Griffin’s hard-nosed, occasionally creepy boss at the Pawtucket Brewery. Her most in-depth plot-line involved emotionally blackmailing Peter into having sex with her as nobody else would on account of her being completely grim.
It’s hard to reconcile this bit-part spinster with the space vixen who stole our hearts.
