James Hance is very well known in fan circles, and not just Star Wars ones. His mash-ups featuring characters from Disney, Muppets, Star Wars, Doctor Who, and others, are at once whimsical and fantastic. With just a painting he can make you smile one minute, and shed a tear in the next. 305102_10151217499052216_369568683_n His many creations, one a day at times, come in all mediums, shapes, and sizes. Many of them go up on eBay once finished, starting at a mere dollar, and sell for hundreds! Whether it€™s a wood carving, painting, art print, sculpture, t-shirts, or children€™s book, his works just grab your imagination, and take them on a trip to fantastical worlds. 429186_10151576639122216_1025644190_n The reason he is on this list can be summed up in three words. Wookiee The Chew. He has taken the creations of George Lucas and A.A. Milne, smashed them together, and made something at once playful, charming, and quite sublime. Exquisitely painted, with an attention to detail that is almost obsessive, this book is perfect for fans of all ages. From the Facebook page: "Wookiee The Chew €“ The House At Chew Corner, in the style of the original Pooh books tells the adorkable tale of the little biped that belonged to Chrisolo Robin (and Chrisolo Robin belonged to him). 24 pages of affectionately crafted adventure, brand new illustrations and sneaky Star Wars references." 375513_10150443386677216_460556031_n With characters such as At-Ore, Droidlet, Taunta and Tauntoo, and the aforementioned Chew, any Star Wars fan is sure to fall in love with Hance€™s work. And there is plenty to grab the attention of non-fans as well. Go take a look. You€™ll be glad you did. http://www.jameshance.com/https://www.facebook.com/ArtByJamesHance

A writer in spirit, a baker by profession. Carl has been a comic shop impresario, comic book illustrator, record store clerk, electronic musician, late night radio DJ, club promoter, graphic designer, and other cool things you wish you could be. He mistakenly had purple dreadlocks once. For three years. Which made him way less cool. He doesn't actually know what the word impresario means, and is way too lazy to Google it. Carl is also an American, and for that he apologizes.
