Star Wars: 10 Best Female Characters (Of The Canon Series)

5. Mon Mothma

Star Wars Female
Disney

In her live-action appearances in Return of the Jedi, Revenge of the Sith, and Rogue One, Mon Mothma represented the trustworthy, level-headed leader, be it as senator of the planet Chandra or as the voice and one of the key leaders of the Rebel Alliance. She is a political idealist, yes, but one with a firm grip on reality who carries herself with an unmatched level of both confidence and sincerity.

It's through her appearances in both The Clone Wars and Rebels that we are able to get an even better idea as to just how motivated and important she was. We see her outspoken nature in regards to unwavering belief in the possibility of peace, in addition to the effort she put into trying to prevent the eventual Emperor, Chancellor Palpatine, from obtaining more power.

Finally, she (along with Bail Organa) was one of the sparks that ignited the flame of what would eventually become the Rebel Alliance and we are able to get a first-hand look as to how much of a threat the Empire saw her as. Plus, when the Empire fell, she was the central figure in returning the galaxy to a state of democracy.

In many ways, Mon Mothma was the perfect leader.
