9. Kylo’s Knowledge Of Rey Goes Beyond What We Know
If you rewatch The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi back to back, the two films do seem a little bit disjointed. One huge theory is that Kylo Ren’s knowledge of Rey is actually greater than she knows, with the son of Han Solo and Leia Organa seemingly fully aware of who she is before even meeting her.
In the 2015 movie, Kylo reacts with nothing but rage when he finds out a girl has made off with a BB-8 unit that is concealing a piece of a map that leads to Luke Skywalker’s location. When he does finally capture her, she says it is good to meet ‘the girl he’s heard so much about.’ There is also the matter of the conversation between Snoke and Adam Driver’s character where her power is discussed, with both men hinted to be fully aware of who she is and where she comes from.
The Last Jedi seemingly explains Kylo can sense a lot of what goes on in Rey’s mind due to the connection Snoke creates. He describes her thirst for belonging as a weakness and drops THAT bombshell about the identity of her parents. However, it may be possible that he is holding something back.
Why Is It Big? Because it would suggest that Kylo and Rey’s bond existed a long time ago, possibly even before Snoke bridged their minds. And it may also suggest there are bigger reveals to come.
