Star Wars: 10 Classic Characters Who Need Their Own Movie

3. Jabba The Hutt

jabba Jabba the Hutt is a vindictive, raunchy gangster leading a galaxy-spanning criminal empire. He's also a giant slug. Don't let this fool you, though. Jabba the Hutt is one of the most feared creatures in the saga, and a spin-off film could reflect this greatly. Like The Godfather in space, a Jabba spin-off would paint the slug as a dominant and influential crime figure with rallies of small-time bounty hunters and smugglers racing around to please him. Personally, I feel as though the most suitable time period to set such a story in would be many decades before the saga begins, although I'm sure some will argue that Jabba and Han's small disagreement would be much greater subject matter for an entire film. This a fair argument; a younger Han taking on Jabba in his prime is a fantastic setup, naturally being many a fan-boys wet dream. In reality, I can't see this being all that interesting though. Everyone must start somewhere; massive Tatooine temples don't pay for themselves, after all. How did Jabba become such a feared and hated character? A mention of his name throughout the Classic Trilogy would send panic through the atmosphere. I want to see this explored. With such a reputation, Jabba must have done and coordinated some pretty terrible things.
