Star Wars: 10 Epic Lightsaber Duels NOT In The Movies

7. Yoda And Anakin VS Darth Sideous And Count Dooku (The Clone Wars S06 E13)

This extended vision battle in what was once The Clone Wars' final episode focuses on developing symbolism rather than progressing the story of the show, as Yoda attempts to learn the secret of materialising as a Force Ghost after his death.

Featuring quite heavy-handed foreshadowing, Anakin executes Dooku with crossed blades in front of Yoda's eyes, precursing Darth Tyrannus' actually death in Revenge Of The Sith.

The rest of the scene follows an intense lightsaber and Force confrontation between Sideous and Yoda, the two figureheads of opposing ideologies, against a setting more than a little reminiscent of the location of Obi-Wan and Anakin's final duel on Mustafar.

After pursuing Sidious along metallic scaffolding against an ominous red backdrop, Yoda watches Sidious apparently kill Anakin with Force Lightning before the Sith Lord escapes Yoda's clutches, representing Sidious' abilitiy to deceive the Jedi Order and bring about the downfall of the Republic.
