Star Wars: 10 Game-Changing Theories For Episode VIII

7. Kylo's Double Agent Status Will Come To Light

There are two main schools of interpretation when it comes to the scene in The Force Awakens when Kylo Ren (AKA Ben Solo) killed Han, his biological father. The first is that Kylo is rejecting is father, and utterly embracing the Dark Side path that he€™s been trying hard to stick to under the guidance of Snoke and the disembodied head of Darth Vader (more on that later).

The other more nuanced interpretation is that Kylo is a double agent, and Han knows this. Kylo joined the Dark Side to infiltrate the First Order and find a way to bring them down on behalf of the Resistance. He has to kill Han, so as not to blow his cover.

There isn€™t much time to dwell on this in The Force Awakens (where the crosscutting between plot strands has to be incessant to keep all the plates spinning), but Episode VIII could potentially find more time to examine Kylo€™s intentions.

If Kylo truly is a double agent, we€™ll surely see some sort of evidence to support that in Episode VIII. Perhaps, as Snoke continues Kylo€™s training, we€™ll see Solo€™s son resisting somewhat. Holding back. Or maybe he€™ll have some sort of secret mission behind Snoke€™s back€ Either way, it€™d be a jaw-dropping twist. Although would they really try to redeem the character who killed Star Wars€™ most beloved character?
