Star Wars: 10 Giant Plot-Holes You Probably Missed
6. Yoda's Express Jedi Training Service
Another legendary plot hole among the fans with the most loyalty, or spare time, is the inconsistency between the two stories in The Empire Strikes Back. After the failed defence of Hoth, Luke seeks out Yoda in the swampy Dagobah system while Han, Leia, Chewbacca and the droids head out to Bespin. However, soon after arriving the group run into trouble and Luke finds himself quitting his Jedi training and coming to their rescue. So, what the film is telling us is that the Millennium Falcon's journey to Bespin takes the same amount of time as Luke's training. Basically, either Han and the gang were out there for a very long time or Yoda has resorted to a very compacted training schedule. It's the same as in Rocky Balboa, but only if the time between the fight being announced and actually occurring was indefinite, and Rocky had to master an invisible, all powerful force to take down Apollo Creed. Which is why Rocky is plausible and Empire is not.
