Star Wars: 10 Most Powerful Things Darth Vader Ever Did

3. Killed Three Entire Rebel Squadrons - Vader Down

Star Wars Vader Down
Marvel Comics

The one-shot comic Vader Down is an amazing crossover between Marvel's Star Wars and Darth Vader comic, but not just because of the way it paints Vader to be an unstoppable force.

After learning of the location of Luke Skywalker, Vader takes his TIE Advanced alone to find the rebels responsible for the destruction of the first Death Star. Upon exiting hyperspace, Vader is met with three squadrons of Rebel ships, with no assistance whatsoever.

Fortunately, this doesn't appear to be a problem for Darth Vader, as he is able to use his superior flying skills to take out Blue Squadron, leaving no survivors. Yellow Squadron attempts to avenge their fellow pilots' deaths, but the next wave of Rebels also proves no match for Vader's TIE Advanced, as he kills yet another Rebel fighter squadron by himself. Vader is only taken down when Luke Skywalker decides to ram his ship into Vader's, forcing them both to crash land on to the nearby planet of Vrogas Vas.

Once Vader leaves the wreckage of his ship, he finds himself surrounded by a platoon of Rebel soldiers, who claim that they have him surrounded. Vader responds by saying "All I am surrounded by is fear and dead men" whilst brandishing his lightsaber. Given the fates of Blue and Yellow Squadrons, it is unlikely that Vader spared any of the ground team either.

Vader Down shows the Dark Lord utilising a variety of his skills and talents to take on dozens of Rebels without so much as a scratch on his armour. All the people who have feared Darth Vader after the events of Vader Down have as much justification as they need here.
