Star Wars: 10 Most Powerful Things Darth Vader Ever Did
4. Flooded A City During The Duel For A Jedi's Lightsaber - Darth Vader #4
As mentioned earlier, Darth Vader had to battle Kirak Infil'a in order to obtain the Jedi's lightsaber so that Vader could complete the first of several trials that Emperor Palpatine had set for him. Infil'a had survived Order 66, so Palpatine selected him to be the one that Vader killed in order to obtain a new weapon.
At first, Vader was no match for Infil'a, as the Jedi proved to be too strong against Vader. Their first confrontation ended with Infil'a throwing Vader off of a cliff with most of cybernetic enhancements damaged. After taking some time to recuperate, Darth Vader managed to trace the Jedi to the Am'balaar city, where the two fought each other again on top of a dam.
Vader and Infil'a weren't alone, however, as their fight was interrupted by city security guards. Frustrated, Darth Vader used the Force to throw the guards off of the dam, whilst a horrified Infil'a used the Force to lower them to safety. Vader then realised the Jedi's weakness: a strong desire to help others, and used it against him.
Using the Force yet again, Vader destroyed the dam that the two were fighting on, flooding the city beneath them. Whilst the Jedi was distracted by the destruction, Vader took his lightsaber and killed Infil'a with a Force choke, ignoring his pleas to save the innocent citizens below.
The desire to save innocents was a trait that Anakin Skywalker valued deeply, and it would be a trait that he would lose upon his transformation into Darth Vader. Vader perfectly displayed his callousness during the duel, proving that no living creatures were going to stop Vader from achieving his goals and getting exactly what he wanted.
