5. The Lightsaber

George Lucas summed it up perfectly when he said that a lightsaber is the perfect defensive weapon in a world of laser guns (particularly for a futuristic order of pacifist knights), and they also happen to instantly cauterize wounds, which is pretty convenient for a kid-friendly movie. I mean, come on, what kid wouldn€™t want a real lightsaber? Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on how you look at it, we€™re not even close to making the lightsaber a reality. According to leading physicists, a working lightsaber would require an office building full of equipment using today€™s technology (if it is, in fact, possible). Oh, and it would technically be a plasma sword, not a lightsaber.
