6. Who (or What) Is Lobot?
One of the most mysterious citizens of Cloud City is Lando Calrissian's trusty aide (and personal chef), Lobot. Despite never uttering a word, the cybernetic implants on his head helped the character stand out, making viewers curious of Lobot's purpose on Bespin.
Originally, he was a regular human called Lo, who performed battlefield calculations for the Empire. After meeting Lando, Lo became a smuggler and ran several missions on the Millennium Falcon. After attempting to steal Emperor Palpatine's yacht (yes, really), Lo was shot by an Imperial Guard. Gravely wounded, Lando saved Lo's life by replacing his brain with a computer.
Although he lost his original memories, personality, and ability to speak, Lo, now called Lobot, became instrumental to the growth of his home, Bespin, since Cloud City's central network was implemented directly into his mind. As a result, Lobot is tethered to the city's entire mainframe, making him arguably the most significant person on the planet.
According to the video game, Star Wars: Uprising, Lobot used his communications skills to help the New Republic liberate his homeworld shortly after the Empire was destroyed.
