Star Wars: 10 Side Characters With Awesome Back-Stories

10. IG-88

IG-88 is seen in The Empire Strikes Back, when he's among the bounty hunters lined up and hired to find the Millennium Falcon. An assassin droid, IG-88 is actually the second of four identical robots, with the one appearing in the movie technically known as IG-88B. Only four IG-88s were ever created. When first activated, IG-88 realised within seconds that he was an assassin droid, that he was superior to biological organisms, and that he would kill his creators before they could deactivate him. After slaughtering those that made him, he copied his programming directly into the other three models. The four IG-88s decided to stage a 'Droid Revolution', planning to gather more droids to kill every living creature in the universe and hiding secret code into several factories' worth of droids (like a robot version of 'Order 66.') IG-88B's identity as a bounty hunter was actually just a cover, as the droid gathered information about the Empire, even relaying information about the Endor Death Star back to the others. He was later turned into scrap by Boba Fett on Bespin's Cloud City.

Tom Butler hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
