4. Knights Of The Old Republic
Considering the success of the Knights Of The Old Republic videogames, someone at Lucasfilm must have pitched the idea of a movie along similar lines at some point. A journey into the history of the galaxy, where other Jedi and different Sith fight for supremecy. In the first KOTOR game, youre introduced to a world mostly dominated by the Light Side, where two young aspiring Jedi discovered the power of the Dark Side and turned away from their training. You played as a young Force sensitive recruit sent after them, straight into a twisty and unpredictable narrative. Unlike the problems youd face making a Leia, Han or Yoda movie where everyone knows where the characters end up a Knights Of The Old Republic movie allows the writers freedom to introduce a whole new set of characters that a mainstream audience dont know anything about. If a movie like this became a success, itd also allow Disney to embark on another trilogy of movies away from the Skywalker story that still has room for lightsabers, the Force and big battles. Perhaps, though, a whole different Star Wars set centuries before our one might be too much for viewers to grasp.
