2. The Jedi Purge/Obi-Wan's Second To Last Round-Up
Im biased on this one: Obi-Wan is my favorite Star Wars character. His story arc is for me, anyway the most satisfying in the existing movies. Hes a truly decent person who cant live up to his good intentions. Theres something very noble and tragic about that. Obi-Wan saying "I have failed you... to Anakin during their final duel in Revenge Of Sith still gets me every time. There are more obvious choices for spin-off films (like the two we're officially getting), but there's no other Star Wars film Id rather see than one where Obi-Wan and Darth Vader suffer for their mistakes. Call me a glutton for punishment, but I want some filmmaker to stick the emotional knife in and twist it. I want Vader to be a menacing, remorseless killer again. I want an Obi-Wan thats truly in danger of becoming a crazy old man on Tatooine. We all know Vader conducts the Jedi Purge between the two trilogies but does Obi-Wan ever leave Tatooine? Id love to see Obi-Wan save a few Jedi from Vader's grip, giving him one last little victory before he waits for his inevitable end. The two characters shouldnt meet in person between Revenge Of The Sith and and A New Hope... but they could come close to it. It's a story with a lot potential, one that wouldn't take anything away from A New Hope.
