There are many indigenous animal species on Tatooine, including the massive krayt dragon. They produce venom that helps in the pre-digestion of their food, and when the dragon feels threatened, it projects the venom from its mouth. dissolving any organic tissue that it comes in contact with. Because of its size and ferocity, the krayt dragon is Tatooine’s apex predator.

Krayt dragons are valued for their pearls, which are exceedingly rare and valuable and are found within their stomachs.
