Star Wars: 10 Things From Legends That Need To Be Made Canon
5. Darth Bane
Darth Bane is the Sith who devised The Rule of Two - a philosophy that there should be only be one pair of Sith at any given time. Although this concept may sound nonsensical at first since strength comes in numbers, the Sith's minimalism allowed them to work in secret, allowing them to mobilise vast armies and weapons, far away from the prying eyes of the Jedi.
Even though Bane appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, his life has been barely explored canonically. However, the Darth Bane trilogy details the period that led to the creation of The Rule of Two. The first book, Path of Destruction, shows how the Sith's petty rivalries led to Bane acknowledging The Empire would destroy itself unless he restructured it with his new philosophy.
The sequel, The Rule of Two, follows Bane after he attempts to seize galactic rule alongside his apprentice, Darth Zannah. The closing novel, Dynasty of Evil, follows Zannah's journey to destroy her mentor to attain the rank of Sith Lord. Considering this trilogy was created by Drew Karpyshyn, who who wrote Knights of the Old Republic, there is plenty of strong material here that deserves the live-action treatment.
