Star Wars: 10 Things From Legends That Need To Be Made Canon
4. The Great Hyperspace War
For millennia, the Sith chose not to expand their Empire, in fear of being destroyed by the Jedi. But the dark alchemist, Darth Naga Sadow, felt the Sith were becoming stagnant and implored them that they could only survive if they formed bases across the galaxy. Slaying any Sith who defied him, Sadow formed his own army of Darksiders and prepared to conquer every celestial body he could find.
Because this expansion caused the Sith to come into direct conflict with the Republic, it initiated the largest and most devastating battle the galaxy has ever seen - The Great Hyperspace War. The battle took place on many worlds but the central conflict occurred on the homeworld of The Jedi Order, Coruscant.
The conflict only lasted a year and yet, suffered more casualties than any period on record. Even though the Republic emerged victorious, it was only after the cost of billions of lives over multiple worlds.
Sadow may have been forced into self-imposed exile but no single being has ever caused as much destruction to the galaxy as this ruthless Sith.
